Handstand Workshop at Loup Studio in Hampshire
Join me for a beginners and intermediate workshop in Hampshire!
Why Hampshire you ask?
The story goes that I went to Hampshire at the weekend with a friend. We went to Fallen Willow Sauna for a sauna and cold water swim and whilst there, I met Louise, owner of Loup studio. We connected over a love of handstands and now I’ve been invited to teach at her gorgeous studio. :)
If you’re a Londonder, use this as an excuse for a day out of London, you’ll love it!
This workshop is for all levels because it’s a great opportunity to learn from each other. I’ll give everyone individual attention and particular areas to work on specific to their current level. Whether you’re beginning your handstand journey from scratch or looking to progress into more challenging positions. All exercises can be scaled to suit your needs. I’ll encourage you to go beyond your fears and find the little spark inside to be courageous!

This workshop is for all levels. Why? So we can learn from each other. Jax will give everyone individual attention and particular areas to work on specific to their current level. The Three Pillars June Workshop
In short: A movement and mindset workshop with lunch included.
What is the recipe to a healthy and happy life?
It’s a big list with lots of ingredients, but in this workshop we’re going to focus on The Three Pillars.
What are The Three Pillars?
Physical Fitness
Mindset
Introspection / Spirit
In this workshop we’ll be diving into each pillar individually.
Physical Fitness:
A full body mobility, strength and flexibility session. This will include a carefully selected group of exercises to open your shoulders and hips and stretch your fascia from head to toe. During this session I’ll explain the why of the exercise selection, so you can better understand your physicality.
Mindset:
This segment will uncover the mysteries of life… okay maybe not all the mysteries of life, but we’ll do our best! We’ll use a worksheet to have a discussion around the pillars of health and some practical tools that could help you on your individual situation.
Introspection / Spirit:
Oh what busy busy bees we are, but what happens when being busy catches up with us? It’s important we take action - it’s true - and we’ll discuss in our psychology section. But so often this introspective part of us is neglected. In this section, we’ll find the R in relaxation and the M in meditation. :)
Late lunch/dinner:
What we all came here for. Included will be delicious food from e5 bakery.
My wish is you’ll leave this workshop feeling alive and aligned. Can’t wait to share this workshop with you.
Book now and add it to your diary!
Any questions in the meantime, feel free to reach out.

Handstand Workshop Series
Handstand Workshop 1 - Sat Feb 18th 2-4pm
The Handstand Basics
Learn the basics of hand balancing and what foundations you need in order to build strength, mobility and endurance for the handstand. Everyone will warm up with a joint specific and dynamic warm up; wrist prep, shoulder opening, core work and some games. Next we'll focus on conditioning and alignment drills on the ground. If you've never been upside down before, don't worry! We'll use the wall for support to invert. By the end of the workshop you'll surprise yourself at how confident you'll be going upside down. Handstands are serious business, but most of all, they are fun! So let's play.
This workshop is designed to be taken as a series.
Workshop 2 & 3 will focus on different ways to use the wall, more alignment drills and eventually spotting in the middle of the room.
Handstand 2 - Sat March 11th 2-4pm
The Handstand - Using the Wall & Flexibility
Get ready to make friends with the wall. Everyone will start with the warm up from Workshop 1, 'Handstand Basics'. We'll spend extra time getting wrists and shoulders ready for the wall. We'll discuss the importance of core strength, shoulder flexion and flexibility (particularly in hamstrings) for the entry to handstand. Get ready to open your hips, strengthen your glutes and stretch your hammies! When using the wall, we will focus on chest to wall, heel pulls and entries into the handstand.
This workshop is designed to be taken as a series.
The final workshop - Workshop 3 Time to Fly, will combine everything we've learned from workshop 1 & 2. Everyone will have the opportunity to practise a freestanding handstand in the middle of the room. Don't panic, everybody will be spotted in the handstand! :)
Handstand 3 - Sat April 1st 2-4pm
The Handstand - Time to Fly
Time to combine everything you've learned from Workshop 1 & 2. Hopefully by this stage, you've been practising some of the drills in your own time so that your handstand can progress. In this final session, everyone will have the opportunity to practise a freestanding handstand in the middle of the room. Don't panic, everybody will be spotted in the handstand. It's time to face the fear and do it anyway (safely ). It's time to fly!

This soothing yet energising journey of twists and forward folds will let you experience a softening of the body and an opening of the heart, followed by a magical and poetic yoga nidra. A unique take on traditional Yin, allow yourself to be guided through a journey of restorative yin postures as you listen to the story of The Goddess Durga, the deity of courage, power and strength.
Whilst you settle into the restorative asana practise, your only effort will be to listen to the story unfold and melt deeper into each pose. The story often reveals characteristics within us and offers an invitation to inquire within, which can be particularly powerful during yin practices. The Water Way Yin Workshop
The Water Way Yin Workshop 🌊☯️
Primary focus: Kidneys
I say workshop lightly, as this is more of a work/rest-shop and I’m delighted to say it’s live and ready to book. 🤍
Uncage and awaken your unique Essence that lies at the base of your spine, in the deeper waters of you, in-between your powerful Kidney organs.
This workshop experience is a form of deep rest, self appreciation and wisdom. The poses will hydrate the webs of fascia covering your entire body, and depleted qi will be restored through the use of specific acupressure points.
You will be invited to reconnect with your kidneys and learn how they deliver vital yang and yin energy to other organs in your body. I will teach you why the kidneys are an important function physiologically as well as energetically.
This will be a safe environment to ride the deeper waves of you and experience the divine essence that lies within. ❄️ 💧
It will be offered in person and online, so if you can’t make it, you‘ll receive the recording. You can learn more by visiting @afinebalancestudio website or DM for more info. Can’t wait to share this with you friends. x
